Cold Night, Cozy Food

On recommendation of the gal at the front desk, I've walked a couple blocks to a warm little English pub for some good beer & dinner. No, my Guinness is not the dinner, but it had a thick enough head to satisfy as a good appetizer. I'm looking forward to a nice steak pie with red potatoes & green beans... Mmmmmmmmm...

Just wish you were here, MP! You'd love this place.

Hard Rock Hotel - Chicago, IL

I think the room doors are really nice! It's an historic hotel, so there are many neat, old-school touches.

Unashamed Advertising

Still no luggage...so, Day 2 of one change of clothes...

Thank you, Tide, for making sink-portioned detergent packets!

And thank you, God, for making sure I am across the street from the Walgreens that sells these!!!

Dinner in the City

I love Chicago! It's the perfect blend of east coast / west coast. I look forward to exploring it this weekend! Sadly, my luggage probably won't get here until tomorrow...hopefully I can make do until then. If not - shopping here I come!!

Waiting & waiting & waiting...

Chicago O'Hare (a day early)

So today was a full day. Started at DFW with a cancelled flight. Four attendants later and out of security, stood at the ticket counter for 20 minutes trying to find another flight to Quincy, IL, through St. Louis...as well as where my already-checked luggage might have ended up. Finally was able to get a ticket to Chicago, as Quincy was out of the question. My luggage - a mystery for when I land. Went back through security and won the lottery - my turn for the 'special' screening! Good thing I left all things flammable & explosive at home today!! Hustled to my new gate, which turns out was delayed (surprise). But the good news is I'm at least in Chicago now.

On to the luggage mystery...
